Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in California. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a governmental, city, county, or municipal environment, and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and adept at managing complex accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing outstanding financial processes and systems.
• Gathering and organizing information for audits.
• Managing accounting duties, including general ledger, year-end, and month-end closing activities.
• Handling capital asset expenditures and ensuring accurate year-end reporting.
• Collaborating within a small team.
• Assisting in budgeting and financial planning activities.

Requirements:

• Strong aptitude for adapting to systems.
• Previous experience in a government, city, county, or municipal accounting environment is a plus.
• Availability to start as soon as possible.

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work 1 or 2 days onsite and the remainder remotely.

Benefits:

This position is initially temporary with the possibility of becoming a temp-to-hire role.

Additional Details:

Salary Range: $35 - $55 per hour
